Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove Miami General View

COCONUT GROVE, MIAMI

Founded in 1873 Coconut Grove in Miami is widely considered to be the oldest and most significant settlement in Florida. Usually called as “The Grove” it is a true enchanting and lush tropical sanctuary. The neighborhood was originally set up by artists, which affected a laid back atmosphere and its charming bohemian flair.

It has an ideal location: 10 minutes from Downtown Miami and Coral Gables, 20 minutes from the Miami International Airport and Miami Beach. This exotic oasis provides the perfect setting to escape the stress of city life in order to relax and unwind.

Coconut Grove Entertainments

Coconut Grove’s unique personality and its varied historic influences are reflected in the dining choices offered by its diverse eateries, and echoed by the jazz, salsa and reggae heard in its funky neighborhood bars.

A number of green and grassy parks will not give you a chance of staying indoors:

  • David T Kennedy Park: a waterfront park with a dog area, outdoor gym, walking path and beach volleyball.
  • Alice Wainwright Park: another waterfront park located at 28-acre lot. It was named after the first female elected to serve on the City of Miami Commission.
  • Peacock Park: a 9.4-acre green area with Indian peacocks wandering around its lawns. There is a beautiful view at Biscayne Bay. The park is also famous for its large baseball field.
  • Blanche Park: a nice dog park.
  • Sunrise Harbor Park: A cute park located between Coconut Grove and Coral Gables.
